Client Reviews

From the people we've worked with

SL

Siti Liyana Mohd Noor

Café owner, Bangsar

"I came in quite nervous — I hadn't properly looked at my finances in about two years and was dreading what we'd find. The session felt more like a quiet conversation than an audit. By the end I understood things I hadn't before, and the list of next steps was actually manageable. I've already done two of the three things suggested."

Print shop operator, PJ

"The Quiet Books Review took longer than I expected at first — but looking back, the pace was right. We covered a lot of ground and I never felt rushed into decisions. The written recommendations were specific and not generic at all. A few of the pricing suggestions I was initially sceptical of, but after trying them, they worked."

Tailoring business, KL

"I've been with Delima on the Steady Ledger Partnership for four months now. The monthly sessions have become something I genuinely look forward to — it's one hour where I think clearly about the business instead of just reacting to it. Knowing there's a quarterly review coming keeps me organised between sessions too."

Azlan bin Lokman

Hardware trader, Shah Alam

"I went in for Calm Numbers thinking it would just be a tidy-up exercise. It turned out there were a few things in my records I'd been misunderstanding for a while — not catastrophically, but enough to make a difference to how I was reading my monthly figures. The explainer session cleared all of that up."

Ng Mei Ling

Florist, Damansara

"What I appreciated most was that Ahmad Faris never made me feel like my questions were basic. I asked some things I was half-embarrassed about and he answered them all as if they were entirely reasonable. The experience changed my relationship with the financial side of the business — it feels a lot less frightening now."

Kumaran Selvam

IT services freelancer, Subang

"I do my own invoicing and rough bookkeeping, but I'd never sat down to look at the whole picture. The Calm Numbers engagement was exactly right for where I am — contained, clear, and not overwhelming. The written summary I received is something I keep referring back to."

Three client journeys, in brief

These are shortened accounts of real engagements. Names and details have been adjusted for privacy.

Calm Numbers · F&B operator · Bangsar South

The situation

A café owner with roughly 18 months of trading hadn't reviewed her records at all. She had a general sense the business was covering costs but wasn't sure, and felt too anxious about the numbers to look closely.

What we did

We organised the available records into a readable summary and walked through them in a single session, pausing to explain each section. We identified that her food cost percentage was higher than typical and that her busiest periods were being under-staffed.

Where she got to

Within six weeks of the engagement, she had adjusted two supplier agreements and restructured her weekend roster. She noted her end-of-month anxiety was significantly lower once she understood what the figures actually meant.

The situation

A print shop owner found his margins were shrinking year on year despite steady sales. He suspected pricing was an issue but wasn't sure where to look. He had tried adjusting prices before without clear results.

What we did

Over five weeks, we reviewed his cost structure by service type and found that his rush order pricing had not been updated in three years. Several standard products were also being sold below their true cost once materials and time were included correctly.

Where he got to

Three months after the engagement, he had revised his service price list and removed two underperforming product lines. He reported his monthly net position was more predictable and that he had a clearer sense of where each job sat financially.

Steady Ledger Partnership · Tailoring business · KL

The situation

A bespoke tailoring business had grown to a point where the owner felt she was no longer on top of the financial side. Cash flow varied significantly month to month and she found herself making decisions reactively rather than from a clear financial position.

What we did

Monthly sessions gave her a regular structure for reviewing the business. Over two quarters, we identified seasonal cash flow patterns she hadn't noticed before and developed a simple forward-looking view of the coming month's position.

Where she got to

By the third month of the partnership, she was coming to sessions with her own observations and questions rather than needing us to set the agenda. She described the shift as moving from reacting to planning — and managing to hold onto both at the same time.
